Quinn can tie his shoes with a cast!!

For Easter, Kevin and I decided that they boys needed some new shoes.  So after the Easter Egg Hunt, we went down to town to look for shoes.  Well, both boys wanted DC shoes because they are the coolest!!  And of course Quinn wants some because they tie.  He said that Rhett could tie his shoes for him, plus he gets his cast off soon, so I let him get some.
Once we got home, I sat down with him to see if he could try tying his shoe.  Guess what??  He did it...

He was concentrating so hard and he did it on his first try.  It wasn't perfect, but he did make it work.  I only had to show him how a couple of times.

Easter Egg Hunt

Today Richmond City had an Easter Egg Hunt.  The boys were so excited to go!!

After scoping out the area, they had their minds set on where to go.  Their first course of action was the volleyball court...

Then they started to attack the surrounding area...

When the hunt started to wind down, the boys were noticing some of the kids didn't get any eggs.  They both ended up giving about half of their eggs away.  I was very proud of them!!

We are very lucky to have such cute boys!!

Quinn got his cast!!

Today we took Quinn to the doctor to get his cast.  He was so excited because he was going to get a camo cast.  So when we got there, the doctor told us he was quite excited to see him because I guess it is unusual to break the bones as low as his were broke, so he had to meet him.  After meeting him, he knew he was quite the kid and anything was possible with him. :)  I took a few pictures of his before and afters so have fun looking at them.

After they took off his splint he had to have new xrays.  Doesn't he look so cute in that dress...

Then they put a sleeve over his whole hand and arm, and put gauze in between his fingers...

Then came the first wrap of gauze and cast material...

Then the best part!!!  The camoflauge...

Today was an eventful day!!

Today we got to go to see "Hop" the movie.  It was way cute.  The boys loved it, they especially loved when he pooped jelly beans and the girl ate them.  We went with Grandpa and Grandma James, Great-Grandma James, Anthony, Elise, Morgan, Abbie and Lauren, and we also took their friend Kolten.  It was a lot of fun!

After the movie, we came back home and made a little treat and then took Kolten home.  We stayed there for a little while and then came home and the boys went outside to play while it was still nice weather.  Well, after playing outside for about 25 minutes, the boys thought they needed an adventure.  I was in the house and I could have sworn I heard one of the kids crying.  I kept listening, but it was so windy I couldn't tell for sure so I went out to check on them.  I finally saw Rhett across the street and he called for me to come over.  When I got back to where Quinn was, he was super upset and holding his hand.  John, our neighbor, went and got his 3-wheeler and brought him home.  Once we got him in the house and I looked at his hand a little further, I decided to take him to the doctor.  He ended up breaking his hand in 3 different places.  Poor guy.
For being so brave, Grandma and the doctor gave him a new dog.
We will have to take him to a specialist next week where he will get a cast that he will have to wear for 6-8 weeks.  He is super concerned about being able to play soccer, hopefully they will let him once it has a cast.

Quinn said the funniest thing...

Here is a little side note before I tell my funny story... Rhett likes to read in the privacy of the bathroom, mostly to get away from his brother. When he is asked to hurry he says okay yet continues to read. So...

Quinn was in the one and only bathroom tonight and he "was not playing with his whoopee cushion." Rhett kept asking him to hurry because he needed to go really bad, and that he was going to have an accident. I told him he needed to be patient and that he needs to remember how it feels to be dancing around waiting to go the next time he is asked to hurry. When I was done talking, Quinn said "Nice speech mom!" while he was still on the pot. Too cute!!

Saturday we got to Play!!

The boy's friend Kolten got to come over and play for a while today.  They finally got to play outside, ride bikes and play soccer and football.  After lunch they all piled on the couch to watch TV.

Kolten is in Quinn's kindergarten class so in the mornings, when Lorri has to work, she takes Quinn to Kolten's and his mom, Adrienne, takes him to school.  Then a few days after school, both boys get to go over to his house.  The other day, Adrienne was planning on picking up the kids, but Lorri got off work early so she went to get them.  I guess Kolten cried all the way home because they weren't coming and Rhett and Quinn cried all the way to Lorri's because they couldn't go to Kolten's.  Funny, huh.
